rv camping with dog

we aren%26#39;t sure where to stay. we don%26#39;t wan%26#39;t anything too crowded but we want to be able to go to the beach., we are bringing our dog but the rv campgrounds say pets can not be left alone in the rv in case the power goes out and the a/c gets turned off. pets can only be on the beach in that area before 10 and after 5. we won%26#39;t be dragging our car so the rv is the only way to get around and it sounds like there is no rv parking at the orchard beach area. what i%26#39;d like to know is, are there any rv campground directly ON the beach that allows pets so we can spend all day on the beach? it doesn%26#39;t have to be in portland. we are going labor day weekend. we would also like to be in an area that isn%26#39;t so crowded you can%26#39;t drive your rv around town looking for a spot to park it.

While I don%26#39;t know of any RV parks on the beack, I do know that the Old Orchard Beach Campground (www.gocamping.com) allows pets and also offers a trolley service (city run $1/pp eahc way) to and from the beach. My parents have camped there for years and leave their dog alone in their camper and have NEVER had any issues. While it is a very laid back campground (no organized activities, hot tub, etc.) it does offer a decent size swimming pool and it%26#39;s only about a mile from the beach, so if you are a walker it is great for that, too. I think they are rather fairly priced as well.

Hope this helps!
