There is a Mexican place Cottage street about halfway to downtown, the food is hands down the best Mexican we have ever had, They deserve a plug for the food and decent prices as well.

That would be Pancho Villa%26#39;s, which is just about across Cottage Street from the Quimby Inn---somewhat nearer to Eden Street (Rte. 3) than to Main St.
I%26#39;m not a particular fan of Tex-Mex, so I haven%26#39;t tried it. There is one authentic Mexican restaurant on the island---in Manset, just outside of Southwest Harbor on Rte. 102. It is called XYZ, for Xalapa, Yucatan, Zacatecas. I%26#39;m pretty sure that they are only open on weekends and the place is always packed.
