Need help finding hotel around Bangor area. Coming up from 95 heading for Bar Harbor. Seems there are no decent hotels in Bangor! We cannot stay in an old building as my husband has allergies. Price range below $150.
bangor area hotels?
Not sure what you mean by ';decent';. There are a ton of chain hotels located near the I-95 and I-395 interchange in Bangor. There is a Days Inn, Ramada Inn, Holiday Inn, Howard Johnsons, Travelodge, Motel 6, Best Western, Fairfield Inn, and Econo Lodge all right there. If none of these suit you then a few exits up surrounding the mall there is a Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, and a Country Inn. The Country Inn at the Mall is one of the newer Properties and can not be found using a normal hotel search engine here is a link to their website.

FYI I believe there are two new hotels just beginning construction in Bangor but obviously will not be open for a while.
You do not say when you are coming but this time of year July-September the rates for most of our hotels more than double. Many of the chain hotels I stay at in the winter for $60-$70 a night are now $150 or more.
Another possible choice if your looking for a newer hotel is the Comfort Inn in Ellsworth (between Bangor and Bar Harbor) it is fairly new, only a couple years old.
bangor area hotels?
I always stay at the Country Inn when I have business in Bangor. And, when I lived in that area, that was the motel I recomended (price and location.) However, the last time I stayed there I felt like the carpet in my room was way past the stage of needing replacement, so reading that your hubby has allergies makes me pause.
If your hubby%26#39;s allergies are bad, maybe the Hampton Inn would be a better pick.
The hotels at I-95/395 are the easiest to find, but the hotels at The Mall are surrounded with many more restaurant options.
Also, consider the Lucerne Inn, which is between Bangor and Ellsworth. I stayed recently in a room in the main buidling (the older part of the inn) and it was newly remodeled clean as a whistle, so you should be fine there, but if you are worried, ask them for a room in the new wing of the main buding or in the new building. Tell them what your concerns are and I%26#39;m sure they%26#39;ll fix you up. It%26#39;s a very nice property, rooms with fireplaces, jacuzzis, some with balconies. Beautiful views and a highly-regarded restaurant.
Be aware that the I-95 %26amp; 395 interchange is on the flight bath of the Bangot Airport. Can get loud. Whereas Bar Harbor is 45-60 minutes further along, wouldn%26#39;t a short rest stop suffice?
I have stayed twice at the Super 8 right near the Coles Transportation Museum. It was nice and they had a good breakfast. Also stayed at the Days Inn, which was okay, but I remember the water in the pool being too cold.
