Lobster Festival, Winter Harbor

Thanks so much for the info. We will be in the area during that time, and I was thinking this would be a great event to go to. We will be in nearby Lamoine for 4 days visiting relatives, so this is an excellent idea. Any local restaurants you recommend? We love seafood!

Lobster Festival, Winter Harbor

Yes! For seafood:

In Sullivan, Tracey%26#39;s on the right side of Rt. 1 as you head toward Schoodic Peninsula. We like their chowders, haddock sandwich, lobster, and steamers (not all in one meal). Not a fancy place, but good food, nice local people running it (a multi-generational effort) and Gifford%26#39;s ice cream for dessert. If you are really hungry, try the Captain%26#39;s Platter (enough for two people, really).

Turn right off Rt. 1 onto Rt. 186 to Winter Harbor for:

Fisherman%26#39;s Inn on the right as you face the cove. Casual setting, chef owned, interesting menu.

and...

Chase%26#39;s (turn left at the cove - this is still Rt. 186), about 1/10 mile on the right. Very casual setting. Breakfast (don%26#39;t order the full stack of blueberry pancakes, it%26#39;s enough for 3 people!), lunch and dinner. Great fried haddock sandwich, lobster rolls, crabmeat rolls, scallops, sweet potato fries. Homemade desserts like pie and traditional puddings.

also...

For hot dogs and ice cream treats continue past Chase%26#39;s to The Barnacle on the left.

And

For upscale sandwiches including lobster rolls, salads, pastry chef crafted pastries, and a selection of hot and cold coffees and soft drinks, JM Gerrish%26#39;s. (Turn right at the cove, up the hill, on the right (directly across from the Winter Harbor 5 %26amp; 10).

Of course, during the lobster festival, you will be eating lobster!

Be sure to follow Rt. 186 to the right turn about 1/2 mile from the village to enter the beautiful Schoodic Point section of Acadia National Park!

Thanks so much for all of your suggestions....you are making my mouth water for lobster and haddock!! We will definately try a few of these!
