Will be staying on the island for a week in a rented cabin and wonder where is the best place to get supplies? I expect to cook some meals and pack a few lunches for our hikes. For dinner we can go out I guess. Also what is the best mosquito replellant for the area?
I was thinking I should shop on the main land before I get to the island or is it better to wait?

If you are refering to Mount Desert Island, there is no need to get supplies before you cross the bridge. There are grocery stores in Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and Southwest Harbor. The largest one is the Hannaford store on Cottage Street in Bar Harbor.
Mosquitoes aren%26#39;t a big problem although they may be deep in the woods. Any repellant should do.
